Our hiring process is thorough and selective.
You can be confident our employees have been meticulously screened. To ensure the safety of our employees and clients we do not contract out our services. We proudly represent our entire team who is directly employed and supervised by Extended Family Home Care.
We only employ caregivers who we would entrust with our own parents.
We understand how difficult it is to entrust someone with the health, safety and happiness of your loved one. It is our responsibility to provide your family with an experienced, responsible, and trustworthy caregiver. Each caregiver is handpicked for their varied talents, compassion, and dedication to help make a positive difference in the lives of others. Our caregiver team is experienced, professional and meets our highest expectations of care. Our caregivers love what they do and it shows in the quality of care our clients receive. We take great pride in our caregivers and management team.
We ensure the following:
- Licensed by CDPHE
- Professional Liability Insurance & Bonding
- Workers’ Compensation
- Extensive Reference Checks
- Criminal Background Check – State & Nationwide
- DMV Driver’s Record & Valid Car Insurance
You have the freedom to select your caregiver.
We will never “randomly” assign a caregiver to your family. We diligently work to carefully match each client and caregiver and encourage your participation in this selection process. We understand that a true companion must share similar interests with your elderly parent and understand their physical and emotional needs. We make our caregiver recommendations based on the customized care plan we develop together, as well as the individual skills and strengths of our caregivers. Certainly, the final decision is always yours; if for whatever reason your family isn’t satisfied with your caregiver, we will assign another until you are completely satisfied. We pride ourselves on the ability to provide an individual caregiver for each senior client. Your loved one will enjoy the benefit of a trusting relationship and continuity of care.
Excellent communication is vital to a satisfying and beneficial relationship.
We begin our in-home care services by establishing a clearly defined pattern of communication. And even after our in-home caregiver has been placed in the home, our management team provides personalized attention and support.
We are committed to specialized training and continuing education.
Our caregivers receive extensive training through Extended Family Home Care and are prepared for each assignment. We begin with a comprehensive orientation process that familiarizes the caregiver with our policies and procedures. All caregivers are managed with performance assessments and have training and certifications that meet or exceed state requirements. In-service sessions provide ongoing specialized training and are conducted bi-monthly to ensure competency in our caregivers. These sessions may consist of topics such as:
- Dementia & Alzheimer’s
- Medication Management and Compliance
- Infection Control
- Osteoarthritis and Mobility Loss
- Hypertension/Heart Disease
- Nutrition and Diet
- Stroke Recovery
- Understanding Difficult Behavior
- Effective Communication
- Patient Safety
- Fall Prevention
